The Cellini collection is a contemporary celebration of classicism and the eternal elegance of traditional timepieces, combining the best of Rolex know-how and its high standards of perfection with an approach that heightens watchmaking heritage in its most timeless form.
To preserve the beauty of its pink gold watches, Rolex created and patented an exclusive 18 ct pink gold alloy cast in its own foundry: Everose gold. Introduced in 2005, 18 ct Everose is used on all Rolex Oyster models in pink gold.
The Cellini Moonphase has a white lacquer dial with a blue enamelled disc at 6 o’clock showing the full moon and the new moon, the former depicted by a meteorite applique and the latter by a silver ring. The moonphase is read via the indicator set at 12 o’clock on the subdial, as the full moon and new moon rotate through the lunar cycle. The Cellini Moonphase also displays the date around the circumference of the dial, via a centre hand with a crescent moon at its tip.
The Cellini Moonphase is fitted on a brown alligator leather strap with a folding Crownclasp in 18 ct Everose gold, a first for a Cellini model.
The round shape and classic 39 mm diameter of the Cellini Moonphase are marks of tradition, while the refined lugs, the polished finish and the double bezel – one domed and the second delicately fluted – add a touch of distinction. The lines are sober and refined, the materials noble, the finishings luxurious: every detail respects the codes of the art of watchmaking, marking a return to the sources of classicism reinterpreted in perfect harmony with its time. Faceted and shaped like a two-edged sword, the hands count off each second, each minute and each hour with the full precision of the self-winding chronometer movement at the heart of this prestigious timepiece.
